Affirmations for Infertility

Will I ever be a mother?

Why is it so easy for everyone else to get pregnant and not me?

How come I find myself feeling emotional as I pass by the baby section in a store?

Will I ever feel whole again?

These emotions can be overwhelming.

Take a moment to acknowledge your feelings.

Don’t stuff them down, or they will rise to the surface when you least expect it!

You may have been told to stay positive, or don’t worry it will work “just relax”!  Download our free Guided Visualization here!

Those statements can be make you want to scream or maybe even cry.

What if we looked at your journey to be a mother or a parent a little differently?

What if we took small steps everyday to cultivate a positive mindset?

Affirmations can be a helpful tool.

Affirmations can be positive imagery or a positive phrase.

You can use them when you are waiting for a result, at a doctor’s appointment or when you are feeling anxious or stressed.

During our online Mindfulness Fertility Series (hop on the waitlist for our next session), you’ll learn more about affirmations. Plus you’ll discover how visualizations and cognitive restructuring will not only help you cope, but thrive with the emotions surrounding infertility.

When we tap into the mind body connection we can improve the chances of conception as illustrated in this study by Alice Domar (pioneer mind body fertility).

Let’s start with a positive phrase.

Close your eyes and take a slow breath and recite out loud, “I will be a mother”.

Say this three times.  Really let the words sink in, so you can experience the emotions.

You may feel happy, content, peaceful, and joyful.  Let those feelings wash over you.

Really allow yourself to completely feel the emotions.

Stop to see where you are experiencing those feelings.  Is it in your throat, chest or stomach?

When you connect the emotions to your body it provides an anchor for you to easily tap into the emotions again.

Let’s try positive imagery.

Sit down for a moment and close your eyes.

See yourself in your minds eye pushing a stroller down the sidewalk with your baby in the stroller.

It is a warm sunny day and you are smiling.

Your baby is sleeping peacefully in the stroller.

You can hear the birds singing, the wind blowing on your face and the sun shining.

You feel content, peaceful and happy.

Tap into where you feel the emotions.

Is it in your throat, chest or stomach or somewhere else in your body?

Recognize where you can feel the sensations (if you can’t anchor the emotion in your body that okay)

Take a few deep breaths and slowly open your eyes.

The more you practice these positive phrases and imagery you can slowly begin to cultivate a positive mindset.

You can tap into the relaxation response!  You get to choose how you feel in every situation.

Always remember you are more powerful than you know!
