About Us

Sarah Clark, Founder, Fab Fertile

When Sarah Clark was 28 years old, she received a diagnosis of premature ovarian failure (loss of function of the ovaries before age 40). At the time she had chronic yeast infections, acne on her previously clear skin, dandruff, and a weird fungal rash on her chest. She didn’t realize until years later that these health conditions were connected to her fertility. She accepted the diagnosis and was fortunate to have both her children with donor eggs.

After her children were born her health began to suffer. She experienced chronic bladder infections, chronic sinus infections, chronic yeast infections worsened, toenail infections, vertigo, seasonal allergies, allergies to multiple antibiotics, and eczema. Years later she realized the root cause of her infertility was a food intolerance and later a gut infection. She did not discover this link until she was fully in menopause. Her message is one of HOPE. If you are still cycling naturally there are steps we can take with the tools of functional medicine.

She is a certified life coach with accreditation from the International Coaches Federation and a health coach with training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.

She is the author of Fabulously Fertile – Supercharge your Fertility Naturally, Fabulously Fertile Cookbook and Fertility Preparation Program. She is super proud of her Signature Fertility Coaching Program, which includes functional lab testing, supports couples to make diet and lifestyle changes that dramatically improve the chances of a healthy pregnancy and baby!

On her Get Pregnant Naturally Podcast she shares that with a functional health coaching approach and natural fertility solutions we can eventually reverse infertility. Check it out on iTunes, Stitcher, and Google Play.

Brandy Buskow, Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner

Brandy’s health struggles started early on, as a child she struggled with chronic ear infections, chronic colds, and chronic tonsillitis. After having her tonsils and adenoids removed when she was 8 her symptoms seemed to improve for a short while but within a year or two she began a long-term struggle with digestive issues and weight gain. She was diagnosed with IBS when she was 16 and followed the standard advice of eating more fiber, exercising and worrying less.

In her early 20’s she started having severe anxiety and depression. She spent over a year trying several different medications but soon became frustrated by the side effects and with the help of her holistically minded grandmother weened herself off the medication with amino acids, and herbs. After seeing how amazing they worked she became passionate about learning anything and everything she could about holistic and alternative health. She went on the lose over 100lbs and managed her anxiety and IBS with diet, visualization, and exercise.

After a difficult pregnancy and birth of her third child, her health crashed and she began experiencing digestive issues again, extreme fatigue, body pain, panic attacks, and significant weight gain. She began researching again and was tested and diagnosed with celiac disease. Although giving up gluten helped some it didn’t address the panic attacks, body pain, and extreme fatigue. She started working with a Naturopath but didn’t see any results. Frustrated by the lack of results she embarked on a journey to educate and heal herself. Brandy is a certified Functional Diagnostic Nutrition practitioner, Certified Transformational Health Coach, and level 1 EFT Practitioner.

She is passionate about sharing her knowledge with others.  She provides emotional freedom technique (EFT)  for the Couples Coaching Program.  Learn more about her struggle with anxiety and how she used the tools of functional medicine to heal.

Justine Altman, Nutrition Director

As a young child, Justine experienced regular health issues like back pain, obesity, IBS, and fatigue. By middle school, she knew her health was not the same as her peers when simply walking home from school caused a lot of pain and fatigue. By her early 20s, she was also suffering from infertility, PCOS, panic attacks, chronic headaches, obesity, and so much more. Despite years of seeing numerous MD specialists and trying countless medications, her health continued to decline year after year to the point where daily existence was merely survival. The pain and fatigue were so intense that her future appeared very bleak.

Despite her health issues, she still wanted to have a baby. Her fertility journey lead her to begin working with a wellness expert…and everything changed! She slimmed down, her energy improved, her IBS was nearly gone, her headaches were better, and she was sleeping better.

Now she was a believer! Up until that time, she thought she was dealt a bad genetic hand and there was nothing she could do to improve her health. But now she knew that she had the power to be as healthy as she wanted to be! It just takes a commitment to a healthy diet and lifestyle, and to give her body the time and expertise needed to peel back the layers of the onion that were causing her symptoms.

Fast forward a few years and Justine now has 2 beautiful children. She was able to conceive naturally and this experience left Justine with a burning desire to guide others through this process so that they could achieve optimum vitality and the family of their dreams with the shortest and most comfortable journey possible.

Today Justine is a certified Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner and spends her days guiding clients in living their best life through simple healthy principles.  She provides nutritional support and guidance in the Couples Coaching Program.

Katy Bradbury, Registered Nurse, Nutritional Therapist

Katy Bradbury is a registered nurse and nutritional therapist from the UK whose mission is to improve women’s chances of having healthy babies and raising happy children.

Katy had her own struggles with fertility and this sent her into a downward spiral of anxiety and depression. It was only when she learned more about her own body and the messages it was sending her that she was able to make changes to her diet and lifestyle and was able to conceive naturally. After that, things improved so much that she conceived her second child without trying!

Katy started her career in academia and has a background in evolutionary anthropology and public health. She later trained as a nurse and then nutritional therapy, and is committed to the field of maternal and infant health. In her nutrition practice, she specializes in supporting couples to conceive, acting as their health detective to uncover the hidden causes behind their infertility and supporting them to bring their bodies back into balance using nutrition, supplements, and lifestyle.

But it doesn’t stop at pregnancy, Katy’s work as a family nurse and health visitor has shown her first-hand the difficulties a child can have if their mother is not supported with the right foundations of nutrition and care. This is especially important during the crucial window of development which occurs from conception to age two which is often referred to as ‘the first thousand days’.

There is a vast amount of scientific research proving better outcomes for children who have mothers who are well-nourished through the pre- and post-natal period. Having experienced her own struggles with fertility, a traumatic birth, and bonding issues, Katy knows just how important this support is. Sadly we have a healthcare system that is over-burdened, meaning there aren’t always the resources available to give each woman the personal care they need to help optimize their nutrition, sleep, exercise, and social environments.

It was this need for extra help that inspired Katy to combine her career as a family nurse with the practice of nutritional therapy.

Katy lives in London, England with her husband, cat, dog, and two beautiful daughters.

She provides nutritional support and guidance in the Couples Coaching Program.

Marika Walker, Registered Nutritional Therapist

Marika Walker is a Registered Nutritional Therapist, qualified with a diploma from the College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM) in Manchester (UK) in 2014. Marika was also the Programme Director for CNM (Manchester) and continues to lecture and supervise clinics. She helps women and couples experiencing fertility issues to make sense of their situation and to optimize their health in preparation for conception, with a special interest in working with those who are preparing for IVF treatment.

Marika first became interested in nutrition while she was studying for her Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in Grenoble, France. She had a life changing accident when she was 30 and spent 7 months in a French trauma hospital to be able to walk again. After the accident, she wanted to start her family but struggled to conceive. She was searching for answers and found her way to nutrition. While she was studying nutrition, she tried IVF and ICSI, but after a few unsuccessful rounds and one miscarriage (and a lot of stress and tears!), she felt like there was another route for her, another calling to become a mother. She chose to adopt, and now has 2 beautiful girls through the adoption journey.

Marika has seen the effectiveness of a Functional approach with her many fertility clients. This includes the use of advanced testing to address the healing opportunities for imbalances and to improve the nutritional status of both partners so that solid foundations can be laid down for better fertility outcomes. She is passionate about supporting natural fertility and empowering her clients with the tools they need to best nourish themselves, whether they are trying to conceive naturally or using the assisted reproduction route. She wishes that she had all this knowledge when she was trying to conceive, and now loves to help other couples to achieve their dreams.

Marika lives in Edale, a picturesque Peak District National Park village between Manchester and Sheffield, in the north of England (UK). She is based there with her husband, 2 little girls, an Irish Wolfhound (called ‘Bear’), and 3 mad cats. She is originally from Finland, is multi-lingual, and misses her family, sauna, forest, lakes, proper winter and the Northern Lights

She provides nutritional support and guidance in the Couples Coaching Program.

Terra Vitiello, Certified Preconception Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner

Terra had a plan. It was a good plan…

Go to college. > Go to grad school. > Build a thriving physical therapy practice. > Help lots of people regain function in their bodies. > Fall in love. > Get married. > Become a baby-making factory. (She hoped for 6!)

Terra loved growing up in a big, chaotic, action-packed household so naturally, she hoped to have a big family of her own one day. This hope, however, was challenged in 1998 when her OBGYN uttered 4 letters: PCOS.

This diagnosis left her with a ton of questions and no answers, medications that offered zero healing, a deeply wounded spirit, and a “good plan” that no longer seemed good.

For 10 years Terra searched for answers and hope, but her investigation consistently fell flat.

It wasn’t until she was in her 30’s that Terra discovered alternative medicine! She deeply appreciated the new hope and understanding that functional and naturopathic doctors offered her, but she quickly realized that the 20-40 minutes appointments every 3 to 4 months were not moving the needle for her. She knew she needed more help if she was going to have a shot at successfully unraveling and overcoming the many deficiencies and dysfunctions that lead to her PCOS label. Terra left these doctor appointments feeling overwhelmed and anxious. What Terra needed was a clear plan of action to implement daily, weekly, and monthly. She needed more time and personal guidance from her practitioner throughout her entire healing journey.

Her desire for a greater level of support and step by step guidance was eye-opening. There was clearly a gap that needed filling. So the “good plan” that no longer seemed good was back on track after one necessary pivot. Terra decided that the world didn’t need another physical therapist, but it did need qualified, passionate practitioners helping couples through each step of their preconception/fertility journey.

Today Terra is a certified Holistic Preconception Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner. She spends her days assisting hopeful couples with boosting their fertility by helping them uncover and overcome the blind spots in their own health that are known to affect fertility and the health of a developing fetus

She provides nutritional support and guidance in the Couples Coaching Program.

Nicky Mishko, Nutrition Assistant, Registered Dietician

Nicky Mishko holds a Master of Science in Nutrition and is a Registered Dietitian.  Prior to pursuing a degree in nutrition, she had an administrative career in the healthcare field.  After experiencing personal health struggles and watching close family members tackle their own medical issues, she became inspired to leave the business world and pursue a career in nutrition to help others improve their health and quality of life

While pursuing her graduate degree, Nicky gave birth to her oldest son.  Following a difficult delivery, he was admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).  While in the NICU, Nicky met a dietitian and became interested in maternal/child nutrition and advocating for issues concerning women’s health.  Nicky has worked in the NICU and provided care in an outpatient clinic setting.

She provides administrative support to the Couples Coaching Program.

Nicky lives in Washington State with her family.

Nichole Causey, Reiki Master

Nichole Causey is an Intuitive Crystal Reiki Master who specializes in spirit baby communication, manifestation, self-love, confidence, and intuition development.

She originally found reiki as a teenager after her parents divorced and credits reiki for giving her the strength to triumph in the hardest of times including her own divorce. Ever since then it has been a staple in her life for self-healing and eventually she opened a practice in Amelia Island, Florida & practices all over the globe with distance healing.

As a mother of 3, she is passionate about women trusting themselves during the process of birth; from preconception to motherhood. Each Reiki session is different but she uses a blend of color therapy, chakra healing, mediumship and intuition to give the best possible outcome and healing.

Curious as to what Reiki actually is? Reiki is an energy healing that includes a Reiki Master channeling energy from source and giving it directly to the client either in-person or at a distance. Reiki encourages you to reduce anxiety, return to hope and trust and feel lighter/happier. During a typical Reiki session with Nichole, there is no contact but you are asked to rest or meditate if possible. She will record a video with the results of the session; including suggestions and a mini oracle card reading if appropriate.

She provides couples reiki in the Couples Coaching Program.

Samantha Kellgren, Fertility Coach, Exercise, and Fitness Coach

Samantha has a background in personal training (NASM) and run coaching (RRCA) and practices now as an ACE certified health coach focused on improving women’s relationship with exercise and themselves.

After getting into running, Samantha fell in love with the sport but fell into an unhealthy dependence on exercise. After going off the pill in 2016 she found she was missing her period entirely and started down the path of fertility treatments. Once she received a Hypothalamic Amenorrhea diagnosis once they were upon IVF, she started cutting back on intense workouts and gained a needed 10 pounds.
She had her son via IVF and through deep mindset shifts around exercise and body image, she now enjoys more balance between working out and living her life than she knew existed! Samantha lives in Asheville, NC with her husband, son, and dog.

She provides fertility and exercise coaching in the Couples Coaching Program.

Caitlin Townsend, Fertility Coach, Functional Nutrition Therapist, Professional Chef

Caitlin grew up loving all things natural and ate a diet full of freshly baked goods and home cooked meals. This love for food led her to go to The Culinary Institute of America, where her love affair with food continued.

She considered herself to be overall a healthy person. It wasn’t until she started trying to conceive that she realized there were many supposedly ‘normal’ things that were causing underlying health conditions and stopping her from having a healthy baby. Things such as gut issues, painful periods, mood swings and bloating which she thought were all ‘normal’ started to add up to the big picture and explain her ‘unexplained’ diagnosis. When she was diagnosed with unexplained infertility and her doctors were not able to come up with any solutions, she knew she had to become her own advocate and find the explanation.

It wasn’t until she went back to school and became a Functional Nutritional Therapist that she was able to uncover her hidden health issues and begin her recovery to true optimal health.

She fell in love with the process of combining her culinary knowledge and her functional nutritional education and was able to share this with others struggling to conceive. Caitlin uses a food as medicine approach, that tastes amazing along with a functional approach to get to the root cause.

When she isn’t geeking out about all things fertility, you will find her in the gardens of her lovely farmhouse or cooking up something tasty in her kitchen.

She provides fertility coaching in the Couples Coaching Program.

Samantha Coffin, Fertility Coach

Samantha is a wellness + mindset coach primarily focused on helping women go from a life full of symptoms to a life full of living.

As a child, Samantha personally struggled with health and wellness. She doesn’t have many memories where she wasn’t sick. Yet the various doctors she saw had few answers and many told her that her experiences were “normal”.

In 2007, Samantha was diagnosed with Lyme Disease and Celiac Disease. Years into her gluten free diet, she was still struggling. This is where she finally said, enough is enough and took it upon herself to find the answers. With her Masters in Gender + Women Studies, ACE health coach certification and years of personal experiences, Samantha started offering her services.

Her personal journey is still in action. After 5 years of infertility, Samantha was finally diagnosed with Endometriosis and began furthering her education to serve the 1 in 10 women living with this dramatically misunderstood disease.

Samantha became a health coach because she believes everyone should be able to reach their optimal health in a much shorter time than she has. Our lives should be spent living!

She provides Fertility Coaching in the Couples Coaching Program.

Fatima Shaikh, Fertility Coach

Fatima is an Integrative Fertility Coach who is dedicated to helping women and couples create their families with joy and purpose through an evidence-based holistic approach that includes diet and lifestyle changes, stress management, and mindset coaching. It’s very important to Fatima that her clients feel empowered and supported as they gain a renewed sense of vitality.
In her 20s Fatima was diagnosed with “unexplained infertility”. She lost her first baby at 12 weeks and experienced eleven more losses thereafter. When the miscarriages kept recurring, she couldn’t understand why there was no explanation and how an otherwise healthy woman could keep miscarrying. So she decided to take matters into her own hands.
After years of research, doctor’s visits, trial and error, and leaps of faith, Fatima finally got to the root cause of her miscarriages and now has two lovely children. After helping other women and couples through their journey, Fatima decided to certify as a Holistic Health Coach with a specialization in Hormone Health and Fertility Nutrition.
Inspired by her grandmother’s and mother’s use of herbs and food as medicine and her own passion for learning, Fatima is studying Western herbs as well as Traditional Chinese Medicine.

She provides fertility coaching in the Couples Coaching Program.

There’s no magic to it. Through imagery, visualization, breathing exercises and mindfulness work, we can reverse the harmful effects of stress on the body.

Amira Posner is a Clinical Social Worker with a private practice in Toronto, Ontario. Amira has both a Bachelor and Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Manitoba.
